The design team at Ardmore Craig has completed a quick design turnaround for a series of modification to an existing cable storage reel.
Its client required access to both ends of a production cable, so the team retrospectively fitted a ramp to the inside face of one of the reel flanges to allow both the first end and last end to remain accessible.
The work scope included a site survey of the reel to be modified, shop survey of an existing ramp to allow the geometry to be mirrored, 3D modelling and production of manufacturing drawings.
